Surat born Namitha Kapoor is currently creating waves in the South film industry.
Her window to the entertainment industry began with the Femina Miss India Contest 2001.

Though she did not win the Miss India title, she came fourth in the contest. She was also Miss Surat for the year 1998
Although she started out in Telugu movies, she became famous only after the Tamil film Engal Anna opposite Vijayakanth.

Her screen name in her first two Telugu movies was Bhairavi.

She appeared in an English film named Maya directed by Eric Manning.
